On 18 January, students from Class 1 GIIS East Coast Campus organized a fund-raising initiative, called 'Food Fiesta' which was inaugurated by the Principal, Ms. Melissa Maria. This initiative managed to raise an astonishing amount of $2117 with the help of students, parents and teachers. The proceeds of the sale will go to a charity that helps the less-fortunate and the elderly citizens.

The 'Food Fiesta' charity drive is an initiative that helps to raise funds for the less-fortunate. This has inculcated strong values in our young children - values like being kind to the less fortunate, and has also build a sense of belonging and giving back to their community. This event embodies one of our guiding principles under the Nine Gems methodology, as Community – Connection, Care & Conserve.

The students from KG to Class 10 attended the event. The aroma and the array of food attracted students in large numbers. They savoured the homemade finger licking delicacies that consisted of crunchy cookies, muffins, vegetable sandwiches, pasta, creamy cakes and many more varieties of delectable.

We sincerely thank our enthusiastic parents who contributed by helping our students by organizing the food for the 'Food Fiesta'. This initiative proved that a small action can make a big difference.
